Quilting bug

I noticed Fabric Depot was having an Outdoor Clearance Sale and couldn't resist the urge to just at least check it out. Well I found some awesome fabric, I have wanted to make the boys quilts for their bunkbeds for sometime now but have not found fabrics that were the right colors and themes.

I wanted something that was fun for them that they would be excited about but also wasn't something they would quickly outgrow. I found a fabric line by Nanette Hilton for Northcott called Up, Up and Away.

Getting paid off...

The stories of a 3 yr old....

I asked Preston to pick up his toys, he protested strongly with the suggestion that he wasn't going to pick them up and that daddy could. Then he turns to Jim and says, "I will give you a quarter to pick up my blocks". Jim and I just lost it laughing...I asked him where he was going to get this quarter and he replied out of Mommy's coin purse.

Jim came home and noticed one of my large pictures on the living room wall was askew and asked Preston if he had hit Mommy's picture he says, "Connor did it, I swear it wasn't me". Wait what, you swear, I am pretty positive that Connor cannot reach the picture. So after I tell him I don't think there is any way Connor could reach the picture he tells us a huge story about how Connor crawled on top of the vacuum to reach it...hmm...usually he doesn't tell stories, but I had to wonder, what?!

I should really post more of our conversations they are quite amusing.

Skinny dipping and Pool time

The boys enjoying the heat and the pool.

These were fun...it was 8pm one night last week and I was out cleaning up the toys left out on the deck, the boys asked if they could come out and I agreed. Soon they were asking to take off their clothes, and play in the pool...well it has been in the 90's so the pool was more like a hot tub...they played till dark and loved skinny dipping.

I have more pics but I tried to keep out any "boy parts". ;)

4th of July

We as many of you I am sure had a busy 4th of July, we started out at the Oregon City farmers markert getting fresh berries, fruits, and vegetables for our BBQ that evening, we enjoyed pool time in the backyard and then met up with my family for a Haney family BBQ before the annual Happy Valley Fireworks.
Jim grilled his famous burgers with grilled zuccini and grilled pineapple, I made a fruit pizza, corn on the cob, and tomato cucumber salad, Grandma Barbara brought her homemade rubbarb cobbler, baked beans and potato salad, Nikki made awesome peach pies and lemon squares...and mom got to enjoy her grandboys!
Sean made an awesome slip n' slide for the kids in the backyard, I wish I had pics of it, he used 25ft of tarp from home depot.
Nikki and Adam bought a lot of fun fireworks for the boys which they loved...Connor stomping out a poop snake...by their expressions I am not sure what they thought about this growing, black, coiling, thing
I think they were just amazed in the end that it could grow with fire...they loved the pop-its too

Nikki's awesome pie...
Getting ready for the fireworks...Nikki had just finished cutting my hair!
